OUR goal

The 2030 Sustainable Development Collective Fund has been created by a team with substantial experience creating and growing human-improving projects in the developing world.

With the intellectual capital of MM Associates

The fund and its projects are operated and managed by MM Associates, a private office working with UHNWIs, Family Offices, Foundations and Institutional clients.

MM Associates turn wealth into worth through ambitious philanthropic and sustainable development projects; as well as building and managing reputations online and in the media.

Michael Macfarlane

Michael Macfarlane

Mike has nearly two decades of experience building global teams and networks and is also Founder at MM Associates where he works with UHNWIs, Family Offices, Foundations, Endowments, and corporates. In 2019, Mike created and built a new NGO on behalf of a UHNWI which has since cured more than fifty thousand people of cataract blindness in Bhutan, Nepal, Ethiopia, Ghana and India.

Laura Hearn

Laura has 17 years of experience as a BBC journalist and producer and has worked with some of the BBC’s leading talent producing sensitive and highly detailed content. A Partner at MM Associates, Laura works with UHNWIs, Family Offices and Foundations, translating the complex into relatable and compelling content. Laura is also a passionate mental health advocate and public speaker.

Pankaj Thapa

Pankaj has been advising development organisations for over a decade with a strong focus on poverty alleviation, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), climate change, and public health. His work has taken him across Asia and Africa working with organisations advancing sustainable development. An advocate of reducing inequalities in the developing world, he was previously as a social issues reporter.

Luke Severn

Luke has a diverse background in producing global content and communications to elevate issues and drive social impact. With a solid foundation in sustainable development, Luke spent two years with a NGO, specialising in combating cataract blindness in the developing world. With experience in a Family Office setting, working closely with UHNWI’s, Luke is also an advocate for social change, actively contributing to societal issues through insightful reporting.

Nell May

Nell holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and is particularly interested in social, cultural and political issues, both historical and current. She has an extensive creative portfolio, having published articles in The Islington Tribune as well as contributing to the creation of the History Nerds podcast on Spotify. Nell has also spent time as an archival researcher for various historical projects, including historical family research and community projects.
